About

Here at TheHealthyLayman.com our goal is to provide you information on simple ways to improve your health so you can become the best version of yourself. Mind you, when we say simple we don’t mean easy. It still takes time, discipline, patience, and  hard work to be healthy.

That being said, being healthy does not have to be complicated. Too often many personal trainers, fitness experts, nutritionists, professional athletes and so on tend to add a lot of complexity to their health and fitness advice. While they aren’t always necessarily wrong, a lot of times their advice can be very overwhelming to some people. After all if you’re goal for example was just to lose weight do you really need to train like an Olympic athlete? Are all exercises the same? Are some better than others and under what circumstances are they better?

Again if your goal is to become a professional athlete you may want to adopt the more advanced workout routines, strict diets, and dig into the deep scientific research on nutrition. But chances are good most of you reading this page are not seriously interested in going into that much work (at least not yet). You just want to know how to get started. The last thing you want is to feel overwhelmed before you even get started.

The good news is getting healthy is a lot simpler than you might think. Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to be a fanatic about fitness to be fit. Nor do you have to know everything about nutrition. You don’t have to dedicate half your day to working out in the gym. And you don’t need to adopt a restrictive diet. You just have to have a plan and know what you’re doing. Just remember that as long as you are consistent and patient you will see your health improve significantly.

Complexity is often unnecessary when it comes to being healthy. It often discourages beginners from becoming the best version of themselves. It often causes people to waste their time on things that are redundant . Here at TheHealthyLayman we are here to simplify your job by providing you information that is straightforward and easy to understand. We are not here to overwhelm you with data. Our job is just to provide a series of relatively brief, simple, and effective advice on what you need to do to stay healthy.

With all that out of the way, check out our content for more information. We wish you luck and hope you find the information useful.
